Awhile back, Auditography featured an Audi Q4 e-tron Sportback in a video, wearing a great shade of Aurora Violet. Now, there’s a video of the new Audi Q4 e-tron 50 Quattro, the most powerful version of the Q4 you can get, wearing the same delicious shade of purple as the previous car.
The Audi Q4 e-tron isn’t the most beautiful car in Audi’s lineup but it’s one of the better looking EVs on the market. Its muscular rear wheel arches, short overhangs, crisp lines, and high-tech headlights and taillights make the car look perhaps a bit more exciting than it is to drive. In Aurora Violet, it looks even better.
For starters, there aren’t enough purple cars in the world. Additionally, Aurora Violet is so dark it’s almost black in certain light. So it isn’t a standout, flamboyant color. It’s subtle and luxurious looking, with just a hint of something special. When you see it, you don’t immediately notice it’s purple in most lighting but, with a second glance, you’ll soon notice that it’s something more interesting than just black or dark blue.
The interior of this specific car is black, which I think is a wasted opportunity to pair the Aurora Violet with something a bit lighter, to contrast the dark exterior. Still, it’s a handsome cabin with a great tech-forward design that still isn’t overly techy. The Q4 e-tron has one of Audi’s best affordable interiors and it’s not hard to see why in this video.
Being the Audi Q4 e-tron 50 Quattro, it uses two electric motors to make 300 horsepower and can get from 0-60 mph in a brisk six-ish seconds. It’s not shockingly fast but it’s hot-hatch-fast, which is enough for a compact electric crossover. The Q4 e-tron isn’t meant to be a performance car, rather a comfortable, premium, and practical electric car for young execs with young families. It does that perfectly. And if you get it in Aurora Violet, it does it in style, too.
