Audi Q4 e-tron Gets Reviewed by Top Gear

Now that reviews of the Audi e-tron GT are common, the next important Audi to get reviewed by journalists and enthusiasts is the Q4 e-tron. While a small, electric crossover might not exactly be an enthusiast’s favorite car, the Audi Q4 e-tron is a hugely important car for the brand, as it offers affordable electrification to customers, so it’d better be good. In this new review from Top Gear, we get to find out.

Under the skin, the Audi Q4 e-tron is essentially — at its core — is a Volkswagen ID.4. That might seem a bit disappointing on the surface, considering the Q4 e-tron is a bit more expensive and from a more premium brand. However, Audi has seemingly done a good job in making its Q4 e-tron feel different from the ID.4. In this review from Top Gear, it seems that the Q4 strikes a good balance between being a comfortable, premium EV and also being an engaging, premium car to drive.

Of course, it’s not a sporty enthusiast’s car but it’s more pleasant to drive down a curvy road than you might think. Its steering is accurate and nicely weighted, its chassis is balanced and capable, and its ride is surprisingly good. Despite being a heavy car on large wheels, it’s comfortable and quiet on the inside, with only small high-frequency bumps making their way through the cabin.

The Audi Q4 e-tron isn’t designed to be some uber-performance EV crossover, it’s not trying to steal any headlines away from Tesla. It’s designed to offer Audi customers a good looking, comfortable, relatively fun-to-drive electric crossover at an affordable price. It’s designed to make Audi Q5 customers think twice about renewing their lease on another Q5 and instead switching to electric. Judging by this review, it seems to have nailed it.
