Now that you’ve kept an eye on price, there are several other factors to weigh when you decide which one to buy:

• Experts recommend avoiding full HD or 1080p sets as well as avoiding TVs with less than 4k resolution.
• If you’ve heard about 8K TVs, well, they’re really pricey ( trust us) and 8K movies and shows aren’t available yet anyway, so take a hard pass for the moment.
• What’s the deal with Hz? Look for 60 Hz or 120 Hz refresh rate (the latter is better because it provides smoother motion especially when you think of live action sports).
• HDR-compatible sets offer realistic colors compared to non-HDR-compatible sets and the same applies to contrast.
• Since screens are thinner than ever before sound may be sacrificed. You may want to buy a soundbar which is basically the same thing as calling it a speaker (prices range from around $100 to $300; you can shop around when you buy your TV).
• Onto the acronyms. An OLED TV uses technology to create the picture in a wider range of colors and contrasts. The quality is, in a word, superb. A QLED TV uses traditional LED back or side-lighting and panels. QLED isn’t as top-notch as OLED, but it’s certainly not shabby. As for SKUs? Here’s how to interpret those and ensure you’re actually getting a good deal.
• Now, for a word or two about resolution, which is the number of pixels that encompass a picture on the screen. Essentially, it’s horizontal rows and vertical columns. More pixels equate to a sharper picture and better details. So simply stated, higher numbers are typically better than lower ones.In addition, look for a TV with several HDMI ports.
